NOTICE OF RACE
1. ORGANIZING
AUTHORITY
The
Organizing Authority for the 2007 Laser 4000 European Championship is A.S.D.

in conjunction with the Laser 4000 Class Association, the Italian Sailing
Federation (FIV) and the International Sailing Federation (ISAF).

The ISAF
Eligibility Code will apply.
A boat
entered in the regatta must meet the class rules for membership of the class
association.
All members
of Italian crews must have the Italian Sailing Federation membership card valid
for 2007.

Eleven races
are scheduled. Three (3) are required to constitute a series.
Rescheduling
of races may be made at the discretion of the Race Committee.
Races not
completed as scheduled may be sailed at a later time or day during the
championship.
However, not
more than three races per day will be scheduled.
The warning
signal of the 1st race of the day will be at 11.00 hrs.
Any change to
the starting time will be posted on the club notice board by 20.00 hrs of the
preceding day.
Social Event
Programme will be available at on-site registration.
5.
RULES
The regatta
will be governed by the “rules” as
defined in the 2005-2008 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
In the event
of a conflict between the Sailing Instructions and the Notice of race, the
Sailing Instructions shall prevail.
6. ENTRIES
6.1. Entries
shall be made to the Organizing Authority on the official entry form. There is
no limit on numbers for entries for the event.
6.2 Entry
forms, completely filled in, must be received by the Organizing Authority no
later than

Competitors shall complete on-site registration at the Race Office at the venue
June 16th, 17th and 18th from 10.00 to 18.00
hrs.
6.4. Each
competitor shall produce at registration the appropriate documents.
6.5 Entry Fee
is fixed in € 160,00 per boat. The above mentioned fee must be paid in cash or
with credit card at on-site registration at race office of Yacht Club Cagliari,
prior competing in the Championship. Only Euro currency is acceptable.
7.
INSURANCE
All boats
competing in the Laser 4000 Euro Cup shall have third party insurance cover of
no less than €1.036.000,00 or equivalent thereof in any other currency for any
accident.
The document
shown at the entry confirmation must be in English or Italian and be the
original issued by the insurance company.
8. MEASUREMENTS
AND CHECKS
The Race
Committee may check all yachts and crews before, during and after the races.
Yachts and
sail must be in conformity with the Rules of the Laser 4000 Class Association.
9. SAILING
INSTRUCTIONS
The Sailing
Instructions will be will be given at on-site registration.

SCORING SYSTEM
The Low Point scoring system of RRS Appendix A will
apply.

ADVERTISING
The event is classified as category “C”. The ISAF
Advertising Code will apply.
12. PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded as posted in the Notice Board.
13. LIABILITY
It is the competitor’ decision to enter the
championship or to start and continue in any race.
Competitors
shall accept that their participation in the championship is at their exclusive
risk in every respect. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The Organizing Authority,
the Yacht Club Cagliari and all parties involved in the regatta organization do
not accept any liability for any loss, damage or injury which may occur to
person or property, both ashore and afloat, as a consequence of participation
in the Championship.
14. PHOTOGRAPHS AND TV RIGHTS
By
participating in the Laser 4000 European Championship, a competitor
automatically grants to the Organizing Authority the right in perpetuity to
make use and show, at their discretion, any motion pictures, still photographs,
live or taped film or video on television and/or other media, showing him/her
during the period of the competition, as well as to use such contents in any
media whatsoever, for either editorial or advertising purposes or to be used in
press information without compensation.
